A/Prof Danny Wilson completed his PhD at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute (Melbourne, Australia) with a focus on vaccine and drug development targeting Plasmodium falciparum malaria. In 2014, Dr Wilson established a group at the University of Adelaide (Australia) where they study vaccine targets and new drug candidates to combat malaria and the livestock parasites Toxoplasma gondii and Eimeria. With Neoculi Pty Ltd and medicinal chemistry collaborators, A/Prof Wilson and his team have identified lead molecules with high potency against Toxoplasma, malaria and related parasites.
