Haochu is a PhD candidate in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Queensland, working under the supervision of Professor Amirali Popat, focusing on the development of Magnesium Oxide (MgO)-based formulations as sustainable antimicrobial alternatives in poultry health.
He holds a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Queensland. His current research aims to enhance the bioavailability and efficacy of MgO through combination with natural material, with the goal of reducing antibiotic reliance, and addressing the challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and improving overall chicken health in poultry farming.
Haochu’s work contributes to the broader effort of advancing innovative, scalable solutions for antibiotic-free animal production, developing innovative targeted, residue-free feed additives that align with both industry demands and global public health priorities.”
