Ms Lu Zheng

Lu is a PhD student at the University of Queensland’s joining the CEA-StAR program, supervised by Professor Jianhua Guo. She has a master’s degree in bioinformatics research extensive from the same university and had previously worked as a Bioinformatics Engineer at industry. Lu’s previous research experience includes working on the pulmonary microbial infections and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), specializing in whole genome sequencing (WGS) data analysis. Witnessing the transition of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) from the environment to human infections, she is committed to the surveillance monitoring ARB and AMR and its environmental consequences. In her current PhD, I will be focusing on developing sequencing-based surveillance method for AMR monitoring, utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
