Sayara is a PhD student in the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences under the supervision of Associate Professor Abiodun David Ogunniyi concentrating on the Preclinical evaluation of new derivatives of the anticoccidial drug robenidine as novel antibacterial agents.
She obtained Masters (M.Sc) and Bachelor (B.Sc) Degree majoring in Microbiology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Her thesis, focused on the “Detection of Plasmid-Mediated Colistin Resistant mcr-1 Gene in Escherichia coli Isolated from Infected Chicken Livers in Nepal” which was recognized by the Nepal Government as “All Nepal Best M.Sc thesis of the year 2021; Dayananda Bajracharya Award” received from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Sayara’s research not only aims to deepen the understanding of antibiotic resistance but also to contribute in the development of innovative strategies to combat this growing global threat.
