Darren Trott is Professor of Veterinary Microbiology at The University of Adelaide School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences. He is a veterinarian and microbiologist with research interests including zoonotic, companion, and production animal bacterial diseases, focusing on population genetics, molecular epidemiology, microbial pathogenesis, antibiotic resistance, and development of new antimicrobials. He also teaches veterinary microbiology, antimicrobial chemotherapy, and antimicrobial stewardship to animal and veterinary science students. He is the current Director of the Australian Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Ecology, a University of Adelaide Research Centre focused on multifaceted One Health approaches to understanding and limiting antimicrobial resistance in humans, animals and the environment.
